I swear I posted these here before but damned if I can find them so here they are again! :D

Digging through old family photos and figured I'd post any that had old vehicles:

These all feature my Uncle Abb (Grandpa's Brother)

It should be noted that one year my Uncle Abb took second place over all. The picture of him and his car was framed and given to my grandfather. It disappeared when he passed away.

Uncle Gordon (Grandpa's Brother):

Regarding Uncle Abb and the one picture of him and his Nascar (1977):

In the same newspaper as the above article, there is an article about how Vandals destroyed the Quesnel Drag strip and they never recovered from the loss and closed down forever that year.

1978:

Back in 1974, before the Nascar:

BTW in the picture with the two cars on the track, top right is a 3rd Gen Charger  :2thumbs:

The number 18 car with blue trim was really nice for a short track car.......(hopefully it stayed that way)

Great pics. What type of axle is in the 4th car down?

Thanks for posting.

No idea. Out of the 5 brothers only my Uncle Gordon is left. My grandfather and 3 other brothers have long since passed away.  :-\

By the way, Uncle Abb is sporting some kickass muttonchops in that first pic. :2thumbs:

Burt was the man to be back then. :yesnod:

I remember seeing a few of those car race in Prince George. Unbelievable quality of racers came from that area and really a pretty small population base.

I would dare say that this car...

and this car are both the same Chebby Impala...

Gotta love the 3/4 ton truck Dana rear axles (low gears & super strong) in both pics. I had a a friend-of-a-friend around 1982 with the same sorta setup. He also raced Chebby's...454's in Nova bodies...they ran MEAN!

If you mean this pic, the white car looks like an 81-82 Monte Carlo to me...

If you mean this pic...that back window look like a 68-70 Plymouth...Satellite/Road Runner, who knows. In those days, that may be a an old Hemi RR body dodging the Chebbies out on that track with something more wimpy between it's front fenders.  :scratchchin: Although I could very well be wrong on either of these guesses. :icon_smile_blackeye:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Sorry, I didn't scroll my screen far enough to the right to see that one. :brickwall:
