2 weeks ago on a friday my poor old beat up 74 Dodge truck ended up with a starter problem leaving me stranded. This was a friday. Truck stayed in a parking lot all night. I was supposed to drive 100 miles to the big Mopar show saturday in my 71 Charger. But instead I had to change the starter out on the old truck and get it back home. It ended up being a PITA to take care of and took awhile to get fixed. Making it too late in the day to make the drive to the big show. The 71 had been sitting about 9 months in the garage still in its winter sleep. I been driving it the last 2 weeks trying to run the gas that went stale in it out of it.   Tonight I take it to the Sonic cruise in and had a great time. On my way home the oil light kept blinking. Coming on and then off.   No over heat or engine noise.   I baby it home as fast as I could and pull the dipstick.   Very high level smelling of gas!  Fuel pump has went south on me.  If i had taken it on the big highway drive I probably would have wasted the motor due to the gasoline in the oil!   I got lucky!!!!!!!!  If my trusty old pickup hadnt given me fits  things could have been much worse for me the following day!
