aftermarket tach with msd

hello im looking for an aftermarket tach to work with my old msd 6al. my factory one used to work but hasnt since the msd. i suspect the msd killed it but im not sure.
i believe i have a msd tach adaptor in my toolbox i bought a long time ago when i got the ignition. any recommendations on a good setup? i was thinking of clamping it to the steering column but im open to suggestions.

most tachs will not work with the MSD unless you use the tach adapter...mine didn't..so I had to spend another $80 to get my tach working again
