BEAs are basically smooth vinyl without the grain associated with the stockers.

Legendarys do have a stock type grain.  see:  http://www.legendaryautointeriors.com/page/83/charger-padded-door-panels.aspx

BEAs work with Black Betty cause I have that maxipad dash with the guages which is lacking grain also.

Somebody looking to match stock needs to spend the extra bux for the Legendarys.

Black Betty:  1969 Charger R/T - X9 440 six pack, TKO600 5 speed, 3.73 Dana 60.
Sinnamon:  1969 Charger R/T - T5 440, 727, 3.23 8 3/4 high school sweetheart.

I am nearly positive the Legendary grain doesn't match either. They may have a grain where the BE&A pads are smoother. When I looked at them side by side the Legendary pads were too "pillowy" and the detail line wasn't as nice. They also don't come with the emblems. So, basically, neither are "correct" so go with whatever fits your car the best.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Who will be at Carlisle and have the repro panals installed? I will need to see them in a Charger to see what fits my needs better.

I have a set of Pg classic (b/e) front uppers. May not be 100% but look better than ratted originals that the corners are worn off. :Twocents:

So for $6-700the dollars they dont even look right? I mean are they that bad? I thought BEA made some really nice stuff and was planning to get a set....didnt mean to hijack the thread. Sorry.

Like all repro stuff its something to work with. IMO they are ok, there is a grain to them. Its not like a pad wrapped with smooth vinyl.

I doubt an average Joe could spot a repro. I only know originals as the edges are usually worn off where the door shuts.

Now if only we could find the correct grain vinyl because honestly, it's not that hard to recover those upper pads.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
