Isn't there just "something" about a '68?

When pops and I were looking for Chargers, it was '69 or nothing. We looked at a few, but nothing worth buying for the money. We caught wind of a '68 for sale and my dad said lets go check it out just to see. It ended up being the best car by far that we looked at in the two years that we were searching. Pops fell in love at first sight, but I wasnt totally convinced. I was 14 at the time, and Im 29 now, and I am absolutely in love with the '68s. They are now my first choice of Charger, followed by the '69....

It is a very attreactive body style.

I wonder if it were produced today, for the first time, how many model years it would run without a change.   :scratchchin:

68 Chargers are definatly The best year of the Charger hands down. If it wasnt for the Daytona a 68 Charger would be all I need.

I was always a 3rd gen guy, but every time I watched the Bullitt chase the need for a 68 became stronger and stronger until I could no longer help myself.
There's something about the ass end of a 68 with fat tires that says "Don't F*ck With Me"

...or if you tend to think about the '68 as a sexy woman then the exact opposite saying applies.  :D

While the '68 grille is probably the best, I think the sinister '69 tailights are better than on any other car in history.
What, so the '70's tailights aren't. That does not make any sense.

The legendary 68...my first Charger!  Yeah she's a beauty alright.  Still love the grille and I love the seat covers, always liked those.  Never cared much for the taillights when compared to the 69 or 70 but it certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker.

I have to admit I love my 69 more though but I'm nitpicking now, I could drive a 68 any time of the day and you'd have a hard time getting the smile off my face.

Maybe when I grow up I can be like Bill and have a 68, 69 and 70 in the garage!   :icon_smile_big:

It doesn't have to make sense.

Sure it makes sense. The '70 has different trim around the tailights that changes the look. I like the cleaner '69 look better. Nothing wrong with the '70 though. I think the door scoops on the '70 are awesome looking. All three years are great. I just happen to prefer the ' 69 overall by a slim margin.
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.

69-70 tailights look the same to me.  Small details compared to a 68.  I love them all.   I wish I had all 3 years.
