My assessment of 'Drive": I expected it to be a car guy movie. It sorta WAS, but it moved waaaaaaaaaay too slow for me. At the 45 minute mark, I was really expecting something to start happening, but the car stuff was minimal. The violence was extreme.
TWO car chases, and one was in a rental fleet Impala....Yipee !!!

It looked action packed in the trailer. Oh well lets see if I can get through it before nodding off in my chair. :popcrn:

"Drive" was a blatant throwback to gritty 1980's action movies.  The cheap violent R-rated stuff from before Jerry Bruckheimer softened & glamorized the genre.

It had some strong moments but it suffered from a bit of the Tarantino Deathproof problem.  The director seemed to be pushing the limits of the mainstream viewer's attention span just for the sake of doing it.

Wasn't to bad. I got through it without nodding off.  I've seen worse.
Wouldn't watch it again though...........once was enough.
