I want to paint my 69 charger R6 red.  Am planning on using Sherwin Williams Ultra 7000 basecoat.  They don't have a exact code for this color.  (Neither does PPG for their best basecoat).  They told me that the closest they could find looking something up in a catalog was code 33245.  I think it's for a 91 SAAB.

Has anyone that owns a old Charger ever had their paint imaged with one of the digital devices I think they call a Poet or something like that.  Both Sherwin Williams and PPG had one of these devices.  If anyone has actually had the original R6 paint imaged to yield a Sherwin Williams mixing formula could you post the info.  I can take this to my painter (who has the ability to mix the Sherwin Williams paint) and get him to mix up some to spray on a test card.

Doesn't have to be a Charger.  This same color was used on lots of Chrysler products back in the day.  It's Chrysler Code DT3333, Ditzler PPG 2029 and Sherwin Williams 2211.  Was called mostly Red or Scortch Red.

I was going to add, cross referencing should be possible via local paint store. I believe R6 was called Crimson red.
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.
