hey guys, hope somebody can help me with this.  My 68 charger has power windows that have quit working.  First one window quit, then another, then all four.  The fuse is still good so im wondering if its the power window relay or the circuit breaker.  Where are both of these parts located and what has to be removed in order to find and replace them.  If anybody has pictures of this it would help me a lot.

Thanks

Welcome to the site.  :2thumbs:  If no one chimes in today I'll get the FSM and scan a few pics (that may take a few days as all my books are packed up). You should have a copy of the factory shop manual on your workbench, by the way.  ;)  Oh, and where are the pics of your Charger?  :scratchchin:   :icon_smile_wink:

thanks for the fast reply.  my account was just approved today so i havent had chance post my pics.  I have a chilton book but it doesnt show me where those parts are.  The car has been stored at my parents house for the last several years because I had no place to keep it.  I now have a house and was finally able to get it here about a week ago.  Ive been busy with it getting the outside cleaned up and the interior removed and cleaned as well.  Ill get pics as soon as possible and Im slowly a getting all the tools and manuals that I need too.

thanks again

Hi,
Here is a link to several years of Mopar wiring diagrams. I took a quick look at the 68 Charger ones but did not see the power windows. I am still putting the link so you can look yourself, and they possibly may be of use to you in the future.

Here is a link to a power window wiring diagram for a 69 Charger. I would think it would be close, if not the same as a 68 (other than the change in switch design). However the relay is not shown.

Below are 2 pics of the relay to give you an idea what you are looking for. Hopefully someone will be able to tell you where it is located.

My opinion is that if the windows stopped working one at a time, not all at once, it may not be the relay. Just my  :Twocents:
The 69 wiring diagram should give you enough info so you are able to check for power at the switches and motors.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. :2thumbs:

As Dans 68 mentioned above, we like pictures!!

ok according to my chilton book, the circuit breaker for my power windows is located in the instrument panel cluster behind the ammeter.  What will be the easiest way to get to it?

another 68 with power windows!  I thought I was the only one!  If they stopped working one at a time sounds like might be full of junk....mine did the same thing when I got it back on the road.  I replaced the motors and cleaned the crap out of the window regulators....they work good as new now....

well i finally found the power window relay.............pretty easy spot to get to, I just had to remove the vent hose under the steering wheel to be able to see it.  Check it with my light and found power going in but none going out.  I then removed the relay and took it apart, turns out the connectin wire was broke.  It has a large coil of wire in the unit so I unwound some and made a new connection.  Now i have power going in and coming out and power all the way to where the main switch connects  :2thumbs:.  However, my main switch is at my parents house in my parts cabinet so until i get it, I still wont know if that is my only problem.
