I recently got my charger and so I have been trying to figure out where I would like to go with it in the future. I don't know if I should go all original or just put my own touch on it? I know it is my car but if there is a time in the future I must sell it I don't want to do anything stupid that would cause someone to not give it a second glance.

As long as your alterations are not too permanent or too hideous they shouldn't affect the value a great deal.  Make the car into what you will enjoy the most.

Well the only thing I was thinking about doing right now was changing that blue paint to like a dark, almost black, gray color. And also somehow putting a full vinyl top on it instead of that wacky canopy 3/4 style vinyl.

Put on your big boy pants and make your own decision.    Nobody should tell you what to do with YOUR car.   In the end the only person's opinion that matters to you is yours.

As long as it's not a rare car, do what you want.  I took a '72 318 car because they are in the plenty and I'm doing more of a resto-mod.  Nothing too crazy, but just making it the car "I" want.

Not to hijack the thread but I love your photoshopped profile pic of the charger burning out. Thats pretty good!

I wish i could take credit for such awesome work but jwramc did it all. If you want to see what else he did view pages 217-218 on the post pics of your charger here. He is very creative with what he does. My car started with a flat and he took it from there. I would suggest you check it out.

the good thing is you have time to read and study different options and iron out what you want so when you attack it, it will come together easier. :2thumbs:

That is very true. But there are many things I dont understand so it makes it harder for me to know what to do. And I know this forum is here to help but I feel like I shouldn't be around a car when i have to ask questions every step of the way.

you gotta start somewhere. when i was in the air force they had auto shops on the base where we could take our car and they had guys to help. plus if you have the desire, these guys in DC.COM dont mind answering these questions at all. anything from the simplest to the hardest things. you will learn as those hands get dirty. and in the end you will gloat in the knowledge that you did it yourself and learned some fun stuff on the way. :2thumbs:

Well, what I did, just for reference, is what I call "Restofied". I basically restored the car, and modified things to make it more reliable, easier to drive, and please my tastes... like elect. ignition, disc brake conv, removed vinyl roof trim and welded holes, painted it a custom color, etc. However I saved every part I replaced, took off, modified, etc to put the car back to exactly the way it was. If I were ever to sell it, it all would go with it.

Pondered that question myself many times. I have a rare optioned car that deserves to be put back in its original color, but I can't stand the ff4 Green paint code. I have changed a few things on the inside, but can easily be changed back as I have retained the original parts. If you are going to keep the car then do whatever makes you the happiest.
