Did the matched pair, '70 Coronet R/T and '71 Hemi GTX pilot cars sell? If so, how much?

yep the did go for 115 for the pair.

That was buy one, get one free.   The two car package thing rarely seems to work.

The convertible was a 440+6 , but regardless, something was NOT right about that auction.
And the auto column 440 white bird goes for $200K ??

Over at Russo the V2 Daytona auto went for $108K
The Six Pack 4spd White Bird was last bid at $130K, not sure if it sold.

I guess Ive never seen the AM-8Track in a Bird before because Ive never seen a Thumbwheel in one.  :shruggy:

Are you sure about that?

Nicer car in my opinion- but still $200K  :o
The only thing I didn't like was the leaded nose...

Aero426

That is Bob Joyce's old car from Fort Wayne Indiana.   Bob was the original owner and sold the car in the 90's.   Anyway,  the replacement nose came from or was installed at Petty Enterprises mid 70's and is leaded in.   He had a nice receipt from them which showed off with the car nicely.

pettybird

he worked with my dad, and that car got the wheels turning to where he bought the Petty car...

I've seen it here and there over the years and really like it.  It came from the same dealer as the Petty car, too.

Another 200k Superbird and that's the Floor Price. 4speed.

So the orange v code 4 speed actually bid to/sold for 200k?  When you say floor price don't know if you meant advertised price?

CAPER

sold for $200k plus commissions.

I wonder what the big deal is about leading in the nose.I have a friend that has a Petty blue superbird and has owned it since the mid 70's.He had the nose leaded in.I don't think the car was originally Petty blue but he had it painted that color. His is kind of odd it bucket seat car but no floor shifter or console.  :shruggy:
