1969 Charger turn signal indicators , which ones ?

Ok, I was cleaning up the originals 69 Charger turn signal indicators for the hood I have here. And out of the 3 sets none are anywhere near mint. All the lenses are very presentable. But the housings are pitted, wiring is hard and brittle, the wiring connector bullitt plug is missing on one, retainers need replated.etc. And by the time I clean these, repair wiring and bulb sockets, replate the retainers I will probably be invested above the costs of the repops.

So, I ask between BEA and Charger Specialties. I see both have them. Per the pictures I see , neither has the correct plating on the retainer. Both are simiarly priced, and if the quality is the same I  am leaning towards the BEA pieces.

Which is why I ask, Has anyone compared either to an original ? Please no guessing based solely on reputaion, I want 1st hand reviews if at all possibile

my original housings were missing , but still had the original lenses  , bought a repop set from charger specialities ,   real good product , but the lenses did not have the word   ( FRONT ) stamped in them  , or the rubber boots  at the end of the housing where the wire goes in  !!
also had to paint the lens border surround  thingy black  , as theirs is/was completely amber

Mine were fairly corroded but they cleaned up well. I did have to replace one spring so overall I was lucky. Before I tore into the OEM lights I look at BEA's offerings. IMO BEA sells very good repos. If I had to by as set it would be from them.  :Twocents:

I've seen/used both as well, Bill. If I had to compare I would also give B/EA's the nod as far as being a more authentic repro. Still not "exact", but very VERY nice.

IIRC, the downside to the C.S. ones is that the housings are machined?? They do not have the correct look, & it adds to it that the lenses are also slightly different. I think they are cast from resin vs injection molded like the B/EA ones are. The B/EA ones definitely look more correct.

I have the B/EA ones on my '69. The only trouble I had is that I had to file the lenses down quite a bit to get them to fit into my hood openings. They were too big & would not sit flush. I'm not 100% sure if the lenses were too big, or if there was paint build up around the opening keeping them from going in all the way. I ended up both filing the lenses down and sanding the paint down around the opening to get them to fit.
If you go the B/EA route, just be sure to test fit them first.
