PETE

My Dad taught me about TIME TRAVEL.
"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!" :P

This is the one I am waiting for.   I hear it is coming as well.

The Dukes 1/16 kit is now out and that used the basic chassis from the earlier NASCAR kit.    The one shown is an original built up in recent years.    Must have taken some guts to build that valuable kit.

I still have the black one , unbuilt as well , I would love the Petty version

Exc-71

I still have mine, but the packaging and some of the parts were different.

TK73

DAMN, that is cool...

Maybe I need some sidepipes for my '73...   :icon_smile_big:

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
      a liberal, oh fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable!

that is the actual chassis they used for the dukes of hazzard 1/16 charger. they just whacked a (bad) 69 charger body on it, rather than tool up a factory 69....  :eek2:

call me crazy but why in the hell did round 2 waste all that money on the 1/ 16 petty charger and not fix the  number of problems with the 1/25 scale dukes charger and save us the $$ of haveing to buy two other kits to build a true 69 dodge charger

What are the problems with the Dukes 1/25 kit.   I know in the original 70's issue,  it had the Charger 500 roof.   Is it still that way?

Stretch

That Petty kit is cool as hell! I too had the black car kit.
I may be schizophrenic but at least I have us!

The 1/25th ERTL 1969 Charger has to be the most overworked & reworked piece of tooling in the plastic car model world.  In the last 43 years that kit has gone from stock '68/69 Charger, to a 1970 Charger, to a Daytona, back to a C500, and then back to stock 69 Charger more recently.  It has gotten produced like crazy because the GL is the most popular car model of all time.  At this point the tooling is a complete worn out mess.  The hood, the cowl vents, the door scoops, the front fender bodylines, the front wheel openings, the rear window . . . all this stuff is visibly wrong in some way.

If you want a truly accurate 2nd-gen body in 1/25th scale, then you have to get one of the 40yo model kits from before the tooling was too modified.

Most people use the newer Revell/Monogram Charger kits.  They have a lot of detail and produce a nicer product but some of the overall dimensions are a bit distorted compared to the ERTL body.

that Petty one is real cool. If it comes out I hope I can get one.
