I though I read somewhere that some of the base model Chargers made did not have roll down back windows? If this is true do any of you have a pic of the interior of one. I would also like a pic of a console car that has the console delete plate cause the shifter was on the column.

As far as I know, I dont believe that any chargers had stationary rear windows. I know they didnt make a Chrager post car either. I think they all had roll down rear windows...edit..Im referring to the second gen. 68-70 chargers...

3rd gen "Coupes" did not have roll down... For sure '73/74, pretty sure '71/72.  '72 SE also?

all 3rd gens got non roll down quarter windows as part of package on VIN  WL21 models ( Low class priced )

I don't think 1st and 2nds, being the Chargers were all XP or XS which means Premiun or Special models based on Coronet plattform. Not "cheap base" Charger Body around for those, beside just some other options, but nothing related with body itself
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

Thanks for all the replies. I din't think  had ever seen a 2nd Gen where the rear windows did not rool down. However I did not know the 3rd Gens were made that way.

I busted mine out to roll it down only in emergency though.

I thought I saw or read about this on 2nd gen also?  :scratchchin: (Can't recall where.)

All 2nd gen 1/4 windows went down. The 2nd gen Charger was always a 2-dr hardtop.

Just a bit of trivia. They did make a '70 Challenger where the 1/4 windows did not go down. It was called a Challenger Deputy, basically a lower level car. Production continued in '71 as well. It was fairly rare, IIRC less than 1500. In '70, there were only 6 383 powered Deputies produced.
We used to own one, an original 318 3-spd car that someone swapped a 340 4-spd into.
