Hello,

I am relatively new to the forum and have a question.

I am restoring a 1969 charger rt, being B-5 blue.

I have a question about what to do about the trunk, which is currently in a grayish, almost semigloss primer from previous owner.

I noticed some chargers at shows had the inside of the trunk the same body color, or some paint it in a black type of undercoating while others are painted in a splatter paint like they did with GM cars from the era.

What would be the correct method for the inside of my 69 rt trunk

Thanks.

Welcome.  The trunk should be body color.  All over.  Mike

Welcome. Also, the inside of the quarter panels should have undercoating/sound deadener on them, but it was applied before paint, so that would also be body color. Depending on how correct you want your resto, you may want to find some reference picts for that, especially if the quarters will be replaced.

CAPER

Restorations by Rick Kreuziger has an excellent product that mimics the Factory Texture. I read about it on this site, ordered 2 Gallons and had it sprayed yesterday. Awesome Product.
