Silly question ,But I think I already know the answer

Ok, Is the only way to get the chrome rocker knobs off of the instrument panel switches to destroy the old ones?

Got new ones BEA coming either way but I was looking at the originals this morning. Especially the headlight switch that has the lever on it.,,,,, and the hole for the pivot pin does not go all the way thru the knob on it.

  think the  only thing to do is   drill the the other side & tap the pin through with a sutible punch /pin etc etc
