Need help identifying the correct booster check valve for 1970

Quick question for the experts...

I read a bunch of threads about the power brake booster check valve and was talking to Bill Alphin on Friday.  I came to the conclusion that I have the wrong brake booster check valve on my car.  She's a 1970 R/T 440/auto with factory power disc brakes and a Bendix booster.  This thread by Chris6T9 was informative, but I wasn't sure which valve is the "correct" or close to correct one?  Maybe some pictures are no longer linked on this old thread?

I did a search on Rock Auto and came up with this check valve by Raybestos for my car.  I guess I just block off the extra smaller fitting on the valve, I don't think it's used on a 70, or what it's application would be?

69 OUR/TEA posted this picture on Chris's thread and the valve on his booster looks like the Raybestos one, just needs to be painted black?

Thanks in advance!

I see multiple choices out there in the NOS world, not sure which is correct?

3004626 - If this is correct, I'll get the Raybestos from Rock Auto for 92% less $$.

This one looks like it is for power drums, which means the correct one is 3004626?  http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=5027739 Original P/N list 1/2 way down this link.

This is 1969, and I'll double ck. later today,,, But I think they are the same.

The main problem with using the style where it exists the side of the ck valve, it puts the hose in a serious bind trying to get to the intake fitting

Found this Bendix booster, and master cylinder assembly, off a 70 Plymouth Belvedere, 2 weeks ago.

I know that E-Bodies with Discs only used the Bendix booster with the Hemi. All non-hemi used the other booster.....Wondering if that's the same deal for 70 B-Bodies?

69 disc B-Bodies used the Bendix 100%

I don't have a 70 B-Body without Hemi to confirm.

Jim,
AFAIK
Disc brake equipped B-bodies '68 to '70 use the bendix booster exclusively, be they hemi or not

Drum brake cars used the midland ross booster ( except hemi cars )

And, it is my understanding a Hemi Bendix booster is different than others. The mounting studs are larger, and are located in a slightly different spot.  :yesnod:

Dan, my valve is like the green one on the right in your first picture. And, its green.

Big Duh!!!  I do have a 70 without Hemi and yes - It does have the Bendix. Always make sure you are awake before posting!

I see that now. I photo documented your 70 pretty heavily last year at the Berkeley Heights show.  :)  I should have looked there earlier.

So it appears that the 3004626 is it, and the Raybestos is an exact copy for $8 versus $150 for NOS.  The last question.

Paint it black, or leave it green?

Sorry, that wasn't my last question.   :icon_smile_big:  For the clamps on the gates hose...

Red power steering clamps, or the gold colored ones that are on the heater hoses?

Clamps on both the booster side and the manifold side? (style/color?)

Clamps on both the PCV valve and on the carb port? (style/color?)

Power brake booster hose ( typically) use the red zinc di-chromate plated dorbin clamp( same as heater hose clamps only red)

Power steering return hose ( typically) uses red zinc phosphate plated flat band clamps ( same style clamp as the valve cover breather to air cleaner hose)

NO clamps of any kind on the PCV valve hose

gtx6970

Typicall - power steering return hose clamp on the left
Typicall - power brake booster hose clamp on the right

It's NOT uncommon for them to be found reversed
