Does anyone have any pics of where the horns go ? I just got the charger back from paint and am trying to put the stuff back in the engine bay. Can't remember where the horns go. Also what should you use for the wiring harness? The car had some ugly red wire loom stuff on everything, not going back. I was thinking some nice factory looking electric tape but what did the factory use ?
Thanks.

You didn't state what year you are interested in so I will just guess you are concerned about 68-9 chargers.   :shruggy:

The 69 registry has lots of engine pics:

And here is a thread about where to pick up wiring for the car. The whole thing anyhow.

Sorry, its a 69 RT. I looked at those pics and they are nice but none of them show where the horns mount. I know they mount on the pass side of the radiator, but there are several holes, just want to make sure where. Thanks

The horns are located on the passenger side next to the rad.

Does anyone know where the transmission wiring harness plug in ? There is 2 connectors and I can't remember where the plug in ?

Back N Black

They plug into the starter relay on the firewall, next to the brake booster.

Thanks, I got the engine stabbed yesterday, hopefully will have it running today. I still have to rebuild the carbs though. The center carb is the reason for the engine being out anyway, It dumped gas and screwed up the oil and caused a rod knock. Thanks for the help. I'll check when I get to work in about an hour. And I'll post some more pics with engine in.

So I looked today and found there are 2 plugs on the trans harness. One is a single wire connector that looks like it might go to that relay, The other is a 2 wire connector that I can't find where it goes. Any pics ? :brickwall:

Is/was that car going to be silver??  :drool5:

Nope, its an F3 car, light poly green. I just had the engine bay and hood re-painted while the engine was out. The pictures are kinda bad, the lighting screwed it up.

jaak

F3 is a nice color, I like it!

Found the plug !!! it was on the wiper motor harness. It was missing because I have the wiper motor off. Did run into anothe problem though. The motor that was in this when I got it had a knock so I pulled it and swaped it with one I had from a 70 coronet. Now that its going back in I didn't notice that the lower water pump outlet is on the wrong side. Crap !! I have the other housing on the other motor but this one is already in and everything, painted up nice and bolts are painted and crap !! So either I pull the water pump housing back off and do the swap and re-paint and try to paint the bolts and tape everything off, or find a lower radiator hose that works of a driver side radiator outlet to passenger side water pump outlet. Any Ideas ? I was supposed to have this thing running this weekend, Guess it's not gona happen. :icon_smile_angry:
