It's a sad day here in "Budnicks Garage" I had to sell my 383/479ci 0.040" over 383 w/4.15" stroker, I needed the funds  :brickwall:... I had to put all my 6bbl, some mildly ported Eddy heads, electric water pump w/aluminum housing & an old Crane Cams custom grind hyd roller 0.500"/0.520" lift, w/1.6:1 Crane Super Gold Roller rocker& Smith Brothers custom length push rods & other components back on the original RR engine 383ci base with 10.5:1 flat tops +0.40" over 383/390ci, the car runs great after a little carburetors & ignition tuning, but lots less hp/tq for sure... It's a sad day or months/years more like around here... Freaken slow downturn economy, slow business, amongst other shit  :brickwall:... At least my buddy will have a bullet proof bottom end in his RR... I have a bunch more suspension, brake & engine parts to put on the car {68 RR} but I have kind of lost my drive to do any more work on it right now, kind of bumbed... I know I will build another B wedge stroker some time in the future I'm sure...

Sorry to hear that. Money is a bit tight all round, lots more I would like to do to my charger but its bit by bit as I can afford things with a view of better times down the road. Best choice - keep smilin, things allways turn around at some stage.

Yep sucks to lose something you put yer heart into, but look at it this way, now it's time for a 400/511 C.I. stroker..Gotta fix it faster.

Sorry to hear that Budnicks........but on the brightside...them 383's are alotta FUN !

A Little off topic.....I'm up in Canada looking south at the U.S...........why is the Economy so bad ? Can't figure that one out at all ?
Everybody says same thing about being "tight" out there....
yet....
Corporate Quarterly reports for Investors, & the Balance Sheets for cash on hand are ASTONOMICAL !
How come is there is so much CASH in Corporate America's coffers, but NUTHIN goin on ?
Makes no sense to me ?

There's gotta be a Buck to be made ? Always is in Economic activity, trickle down, whatever a guy wants to call it ?
but everybody just sitting on their Money does nothing, and it seems all the Cash is concentrated up top ?

I shouldn't talk politics, just seems weird from the outside looking in ?

Hey Buddy IQ52/HeyOldGuy, how are you doing ? long time no hear... I need funds & it can be replaced latter, still like loosing a friend ...LOL..."kind of", not really...  You know my situation I am going to do the best I can... I already have the original rebuilt 383 back in the car, with a bunch of goodies on it, it is impressive for a 390ci engine, but not like the stroker, as you well know...

Thanks for the condolences... Yep, I love them B series Low Deck based engines, done quite a few of them...  Here's my deal & take on the economy sort of...  I am in the golf business now, kind of all my eggs in 1 basket now, use to be a full time racer & part time Automotive Dealership Construction & Facilities Manager/Consultant for a large dealership group FAA in the western U.S.{wow long title}, I got burned out & tired of all the constant travel, my body was beat up from construction work for 25 years, I became a golf pro didn't make crap after 3+years just broke even pretty much, now I have down sized moved my elderly Pops in with me 3 years ago & moved to Sonora Ca, his stomping grounds, not too many people with extra money to spend on golf equipment stuff or private lessons lately & construction was my fall back thing, it's dead because of the crappy housing market, lots of foreclosures & bank owned empty houses not selling & nobody has money to spend on any thing it seems, part is the area I live in & part is the Obamaeconomics crap keeping the economy & people with the money afraid to spend any, for fear of the uncertain future...

As I am sure to "others", Obama's policies look like Sound Economic Mangmt of Social Injustice ? The "Robin Hood" theme ? NO OFFENSE intended here either ?

Just that I do hear THAT, the "Collapsing" Economy elsewhere from many....
It may be slow, lots of de-leveraging going on for so many....but I see the Economy as a "Coiled Spring" and getting even tighter ? The CASH is out there, thats obvious, it's just when it goes TWANG and lets go ?
NON-working Money just sitting in a Bank, earning NOTHING in these Markets and Interest rates, just SHRINKS in real terms..........

Thanks for the compliment, I've been doing the hobby car/racing thing for 35+ years now, my step father kind of got me into it at a very young age...  I don't really ever see anything about you guys up North, I guess your doing alright, I think if this stuuf continues it will end up effecting you guys up there also, I hope not...    Yep I'm kind of optimistic, our country always seems to right it's wrongs, when it come to politic anyway...  Just need to keep on keeping on, there ain't enough money around here to do much if any golf hustling {I'm a scratch golfer} our I would be doing that too...  I had organized a clinic for women golfers yesterday, $10 a person, I had 22 signed up, only 3 showed , it's hard to make a living like that, advertising posters cost near that,  believe me it's not for lack of trying, people especially the elderly "baby boomers" which are my best customer base, with the most indiscretionary income to spend {at least around here} & they just aren't spending...  The 20 somethings are on unemployment or welfare...  The middle age like me 52, are just trying not to loose any more of our savings or investments {that we worked our whole adult lives for}, that our tax & spend, current govt. "Obamanomics" policies is driving many into bankruptcy or poverty at a minimum, the socialist stuff dosen't work, he said he was going to have change we just didn't know it was going to be everyone on welfare or unemployment...
