When considering a Charger, what is more important to you - and why?  :shruggy:


Paint and body solid, or mechanicals?  :popcrn:


And what have been your experiences with each?  :cheers:

From my perspective and being a mechanic since the early 70's, I would want the paint and body solid. While I CAN do paint and body work, I'm very paticular with it and it takes me a long time and sometimes it takes me multiple times to do body work to satisfy me while there is nothing that I can't do to one mechanically.

Mine is a driver so running gear. 16 years ago I was accused of "giving everything I worked on a 10 year fix". Repairing any weak systems as best I could, and that included cleaning, removing rust and painting I now mostly just have the cosmetics of body and interior left and the car drives very well.   :2thumbs:

Mine would be the body,I don't really like body work.I can do it,but mechanical stuff is easier to deal with.

I think its cheaper and easier to fix mechnical problems then a rusty body.

I would have to say paint and body.  I like my cars to look good :shruggy: but it has to be safe :2thumbs:

Paint & body for sure. Mechanicals are relatively cheap and easy.  :yesnod:

I prefer to "Attack" the bodywork as it's so time consuming, then onto the fun stuff like big inch strokers, big 'ol honkin Holley's, Eddy intakes, etc.

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I think paint and body can add up much quicker than mechanicals and the problems of an engine or transmission - even if totally missing...  :Twocents:

So for that, I'd rather have a solid body - which can be tough on an old Mopar  :yesnod:

I would have to vote for a sound car body. I was lucky enough to get a car that had been in a barn for a lot of years to work on and was told by more than a few people that costs involved in extensive body repair were high. I don't have good skills in that area so I would have been paying a lot more than I have so far.

thats a really tough question.....i would say a good body and frame....mechanicles are much cheaper.....but you could have the best body and paint in the world,but what good is it gonna do if you cant drive it anywhere? :brickwall:
