Were buying a used 2004 Ram 1500 Hemi Quad Cab from a local car dealer. One item that it will need will be a bed liner. I was wondering what you all though is the best type, a spray on one or just one that sits in the bed. I would tend to think that the spray on would be a better decision as it wouldn't allow anything (snow, water, etc.) to get underneath the liner and then eventually rust out the bed. Please, give me any and all opinions on the subject. Thanks for all the help  !

Spray on is better in all ways except one; you can't easily slide loads out to the back of the bed. Sometimes you just want to slide your cargo back a ways rather than try wrestling it back 6 or 8 feet.

We use the drop in type non skid Pendaliner(cost about $200). I can honestly say the "under the rail" type have never caused any problem with rust in a bed. In a newer truck by the time that would happen the rest of the truck would be wore out anyway. I have had bedliners in trucks for years and I when trading the bedliner goes in the next truck. The last truck I had for 5 1/2 years and when I pulled the bedliner out the box was like new. The only hitch comes when they change body styles , then I have to get a new one.

If you plan on keeping the truck for years then the spray in is nice. If you don't then it will be a reoccuring cost with every single truck.

also if you put in the spray in type, its there for life-you are stuck with it! i still use the drop in under rail type, less than half the price and just as good for 4 or 5 years

Don't cheap out.  Linex is pretty good but I got a Bedrug for my RumbleBee for the same money.  It zips out if I want to clean under it. Easier to crawl on.  No complaints. Love it!
