 69 Chargers with bucket seats....did they all have headrest or did some bucket seats come without headrest for 69?

I believe it was a mid year change due to a federal mandate.

Federally mandated for cars built on or after 1/1/69. 1969 Chargers made before that law went into effect had headrests as an option.

A mate of mines R/T SE has them and looks real sharp. Matter of fact, I thought they were streets ahead in comfort and design of the front seat over the 68's. The first time I sat in his car and then went back to sit in mine it was a big disapointment.
Until of course I re-compared the grill and tail panel treatment and then I was happy again

mine never had any originaly  , SPD  11-22-68

I do like the head rests. I'm seriously contemplating putting some in my 68.
