after a few weekends of sanding and painting, tonight I finished the wood and should have it ready for install this weekend!   :2thumbs:

Did you have to fill any cracks in the wood?  If so, what did you use?  I was thinking of using wood putty.

Thanks Guys!   the picture makes it better than it really is, but that's still 100% better than what it was!   :cheers:

The wood was in good shape, just dried out, so I sanded a little and hit is with Varnish.   for now this saves me $$, but maybe down the road we'll pick up a new Wheel.   :coolgleamA:

It looks good!  I replaced the wheel on my Daytona.  The original one has three big cracks, seperation, open areas??  I think I will try to fill with wood putty sand and restain :shruggy:

worth a try or just send it off to my buddy rod to do it for you

since it is a spare, I figured I would try my hand and save $300-$400 for other projects :cheers: but he does do a great job!

One thing to be careful of husk is that most wood puttys don't accept stain after they are cured. Most need to have the stain mixed in before it's applied. Be sure to read the package about staining before you fill the areas that need it.

it needs to be durable and able to adhere to the plastic simulated wood
