first day of school.....

last tuesday my 16 year old son passed his DL test so yesterday was his first day to drive his charger to school. he wanted to leave the house early  to get a good parking spot and i followed him just in case something happened..... we live on the highway about a mile or so from town, he took off first and i tried to catch him. i could see him ahead but the stop light was green and by the time i got there it was red. i never saw him again! i went on to his school anyway....


his teachers and  friends really liked his car, one kid said "cool 69 charger"... he corrected him right away.





if anybody would like to buy a set of late model charger wheels and tires, pm me i will let 'em go cheap. 15" wheels are in the future for this car....

How do you not stress about it going to school ? ... I'd worry what the other kids would do to it or showing off.... Some of the things that happened at our HS would make me think twice...

On the other hand... You've got to be the coolest dad to give him a Charger...

I already had a keying scare  . I came out of lunch and saw some kids that were known trouble makers and deadbeats looking at her.   I walked over and noticed a big squiggly line above the driver side door and flipped thinking that it was a big key mark....

...but I just got my rag out of the trunk and cleaned off the marks, it seemed like some wax-ish stuff or plastic.   Thank goodness

I used to drive mine to High School whenever I felt like it, nothing ever happened to it. That was about two years ago.

Literally nothing, I think he just saw four kids in a old car and thought it was stolen. I didnt even have my insurance card and he let me go. One time on the way home from school I may have gotten just a little sideways, about 75 degrees, and may have went past a cop with tire smoke still pouring out of my car. He didn't even try to pull me over, I got lucky most cops like old cars.

here in oklahoma 16 yr. old drivers are limited to 1 passenger, 10 pm curfew, etc for 6 months.....

Its similar to that in NJ too. We get out license at 17 and we can only have 1 passenger and a 11pm curfew for a year, at 18 we get a full license.

I don't think that is a bad rule as a 50 year old   I sure wouldn't have the same view if I was 16 again   Enjoy your car and thank you parents

Where im from (kommiefornia) when you are 16 and just got your license you can't drive ANYone for the first year, I never gave a damn but the cop who busted me did lol

Im very jealous. I wish I still had my charger when I was 16.... and on top of that I hope when I have my first kid he/she will get into chargers as bad I am! Sweet Ride! Like to see more pics! maybe your sons first burnout!!!
