Its there a particular positioning for the 440 magnum air cleaner pie pan? I have mine with 440 facing rear and magnum facing the front or the car. Or does it even matter??

This is a picture of a supposedly correctly detailed 440 engine compartment.

Hood insulation was optional with undercoating. I would say there are way more cars without it.

My 383 which was a survivor never hot rodded looks exactly like this except for a few corbin clamps which have been replace with the modern screw clamps. a two speed wiper motor and the battery cables that look different(I'msure they were changed out at one time. other than that identical.

Also mine being a late model year build has the unsilenced air cleaner, but no pie tin. I asked the orig owner about this (he is not a car guy) and he says he does not ever remember one. I have heard this story from other 68 383 HP charger owners.

I have put a 383 four barrel pie tin on it, just to answer the engine size question that people at car shows always ask.

I had a 68 with a 383 when I was 16. It had 60k miles and no pie tin.
