Anyone make their own fender shield gaskets?

I am getting ready to reinstall the fenders on my 68 Charger. I have the old fender shield gaskets & clips. I was wondering if I could make the gaskets? I see they sell rubber gasket material in the auto parts stores. Is it possible to use a ribbon type adhesive backed weatherstripping for the channel that goes around the fender shield?

I suppose you could, anything is possible. Would they seal against the fender once the splash shields are reinstalled?
Repros are pretty cheap, I've used them & they are nice.

On a similar side note, I made the other flat rubber fender gaskets out of sheet neoprene. This was back when they weren't available repro.

Are you talking about the actual splash shields. If so, I have and brand new unopened set. PM me if interested.
