I put in the power booster and something dont seem right with the brake pedal. It only seems to travel a short distance before it bottoms out, maybe 1/4 the way down. I thought the pedal would travel closer to the floor? Do you think there is something wrong with the booster or is there someting I can adjust to give it more travel?

Can we have more info? Did you replace the booster? did you switch from manual to power brakes?

cactuswren

Well the car didnt come with either the booster or master cylinder so I picked up used ones on ebay a few years ago. The car has drum brakes all around. I decoded it as being power brakes not manual. My only guess is that maybe the booster I bought really isnt for this year. The guy said it would work.

What year? Does the brake pedal pushrod go directly into the booster or is there linkage inside the car?
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Its a 69 charger. Yes, there is a linkage that connects the brake pedal to the booster. That linkage was also bought on ebay saying it would work for my year. But I think the guy said it was out of a 70-something??
