Pulling my disintegrating vinyl top off.  How the heck do you get the drip edge off?   :shruggy:

Thanks in advance!

finnally decided to leave it on then risk  damage to it. taped up during sand blasting and all through paint process.    other than prying it off.  i know no tricks here.  also going back on, no fun

on my 73 i pryed it off very carefully, going back on it'll be a gentle process also.
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

If you mean the SS trim over the drip rails themselves, I used one of those cheap bottle openers. I wrapped some duct tape around the little tang and gently pried the trim up and off a small section at a time.

Thanks Guys.  I have to pull them off because they go on over the vinyl.

Take a plastic body filler spreader and start at one end and get it under the outside edge then take s pair of vice grips and clamp.it on the spreader and pull horizontally down the length of the trim. I actually used a piece of plastic notebook and used ita instead, they came off with no damage or pry marks. I got a pic somewhere if you need to see exactly how I did it.

carefully lift one bottom corner up with the small  flat blade screw driver , dont go nuts & it will easy kink  ,  just enough to get the whole blade in there or a plastic windscreen push stick !! , gently prise that corner/ end up a little while pulling the bottom edge out &  up with you fingers off the gutter !! move the plactic push stick /  bondo spreader along as you go !!  take your time !
