Ok I have a fresh 440 maybe 50 miles on it in my 69 and ever since I put in the vapor separator the only way I can get it started is if I floor it and then its a pain in the arse to keep it going most of the time.  Every once and awhile like today after it sat for about a week it started just fine and even idled nice.
The only thing I changed when I added the the separator was the fuel line which was a 3/8 hard line from the pump to the carb.  I ended up just cutting a chunk out of that line to add in the separator.
I've tried bypassing the separator with using just soft line and then both soft and hard lines with no change.
Could it be a carb (750 edel performer w/ electric choke) issue cause I know the electric choke is connected to the coil where its not suppose to be but I just haven't had much time to fix it yet could that be part of the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you need more info just let me know, thanks

Wire up the choke correctly. Running it off of the coli hot is not a good idea. One thing is its not 12 volts and is may load down your coil voltage causing ignition problems.

I thought that might be a problem too but it ran fine wired like that before I added the separator...but I will get that wired properly...where do you wire the positive side of the choke to exactly?

Any other ideas guys?

I'm out of town for the week but would still love to get some ideas on whats goin on here so I can get her back on the road as soon as I get back.

Thanks again,
