Dana 60 inner seal question

I pulled the axles from a 1968-9 D60 I bought and there was a little round spring on the axle shaft. I guess my inner seals are shot?
A search brought up info on front-axle Dana60's and special installation tools. Is it the same for the pass. car D60's Or can I pop the seals out and new ones back in?
