Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some wheels polished? I have gone to some suggested places, but they all say that they don't polish wheels just chrome them or powdercoat. The closer to Connecticut the better. Thanks for any help!

More info is required here.........what kind of wheels? Steel or billet? If they are billet, how much corrosion it there? A picture would greatly help here. If the corrosion has caused the surface to "erupt" on billet wheels you can clean this up yourself. With regard to billet wheels, scrub them clean first then begin sanding them with 220 grit wet/dry using plenty of water as a lubricant. If the surface is really bad you may need to start with 180 or 120 grit. Sand until the surface is flat and move to finer grits..........400, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000 grit wet/dry - don't skip grits. At this point the wheels should look pretty good. Get one of those Mother's foam polishing balls and some good aluminum polish. Then its just a matter of working them to the gloss you want. Just takes patience, good luck.

The wheels are off a friends car... they are aluminum. We have both brought up just doing it ourselves, but I would hate to mess them up. Went to a couple more places and still no dice on a local area that polishes wheels. Do you think we should just do them ourselves? The wheels are flat 5 spoke wheels. Thank you again

I based my suggestion to you on the resto of all the trim on my 69 - SS and aluminum. Its not hard you just need patience. The payoff is well worth it. Follow the steps I mentioned and give them a shot.b :Twocents:
