Are the 70 door jamb switches a one-year-only non-standard size compared to other b-bodies of that era?  Any idea where I can get some to replace mine?

Thanks Nascarxx29, but the links you provided are not the correct ones.  I have gotten some additional research done, and they did use a different size door jamb switch in 1970, the switch thread is larger than other years, you need to use a 9/16" socket to remove them, not a 1/2" like other years so the ones listed as 3/8"-24 thread won't work.  It also has two male spade connectors on the end unlike the single bullet that other years used.  From what I have gathered I have to find NOS or a good used one because it looks like no one makes them anymore?  If I'm wrong, would anyone have one or two switches they'd be willing to part with, or a modern manufacturer part number that would work?  I've also heard that some of the modern ones that are the correct width are too long and the door won't close.  Gotta love those one-year-only parts!

I have a 70 dodge coronet. Im sure it has the 2 flat terminals on the jamb switch.I do recall the size being 9/16.And my earlier cars having 3/8 or 7/16

I had the exact same problem with my 440 auto Daytona. My engine bay would get so hot it would melt the white straps that support the washer bottle squirter hose running down the passenger inner fender AND my brake fluid would boil in the master cylinder. First, I believe the Superbirds came with the direct-drive solid fan (2863223), not the clutch-type. Think they learned their lesson with the Daytonas. My Daytona has a solid fan and I'll be getting a 2863223 in the mail soon.
I solved the major problem. I drained all the anti-freeze out of the radiator and as much out of the block as I could. Replace it all with distilled water and poured in a bottle of Water-Wetter. I filled the tank with the distilled water until it was about an inch to inch-and-a-half from the top filler neck (Service Manual actually says this). Water-Wetter also has lubricant additives for the water pump. The actual water temperature readings lowered and I no longer melt straps, no more brake fluid seepage and the hood is cool enough to actually open after I get to a show. Now, granted, I live in the South and my Daytona HATES bumper-to-bumper-not-moving traffic. I think pretty much any 'Tona or 'Bird will not take too kindly to that. You just have to try and avoid those situations. Also, make sure your tranny's running cool enough. I have a friend who's tranny had a blockage at the discharge fitting on the tranny and hence caused the fluid temperatures to increase (in hindsight this was discovered). After he got the obstruction removed and the torque converter rebuilt, the tranny fluid's running temperatures decreased and hence, the engine coolant temperatures decreased. Now, how things are up North, I have no clue. Your Dad may wish to install a quality pusher fan for those moments. Nice thing about the latch tray, it'll hide it. I've heard mixed reviews on this modification, but have heard enough positives that next Spring, I'll be installing one. Since Fall's here, those 100+ days are pretty much gone now.
