under carriage

Looking for the best way to properly finish my under carriage for my 72 Charger SE.
the car is on a rotisserie (much easier this way).It still has the factory undercoating that held up real nice.Floor are solid with no holes,just surface rust in some spots,mainly the back of the car.

Could I get away with scrapping off all the loose undercoating (leaving what still good on),cleaning up all the surface rust then epoxy prime those areas and then using 3m under coating on top of that ? Thanks

Resto Rick sells an undercoating that is pretty much a dead-nuts on copy of the original.
