I'd like to pick these up on the way home but not sure what size bolt I need withougt doing the trial and error thing. Also, grade 8 I assume?

FLG

Def grade 8, cant tell you the size but id imagine 3.5" or so? Could get a few and just return the ones you dont use, but they are pretty cheap.

bull

Really? I didn't think they would be that big. This is for the front, btw, if that matters.

That looks like grade 5. Is that what it's supposed to be?

yea...7/16" is size....I can't tell ya the length

Yup, Bill was right on the money. 2 1/4" long is perfect with one flat washer and a lock nut. :2thumbs:

While you might want grade 8 for other suspension components, a grade 5 for the shocks is still pretty stout. Think about this, that stud on the top of the shock isn't even graded at all.

:2thumbs: I agree. I did a little checking (phone call to Firm Feel) and was told that grade 8 is not necessary.

Doubt? No. Verify? Yes. :2thumbs:

Even I'm not perfect so all is good.

And I would agree grade 5 is more than enough. A shock isn't going to really cause any side load pressures to cause any worry.
