HI!
I having some trouble over here in Sweden finding the correct light green poly F3 for my 69 charger.
The only code ppg and dupoint can find that they call "good match" are Lime gold Ford 69
Its very close but it feels wrong that it is a ford paint and its a little more gold in it.
Impossible to get it correct on picture but i give it a try. Did the plants back in 69 have different finiches on the paints?

What do you guys think? Is it totally wrong using a very close paint? Do i destroy the value? Opinions!!

Lower part of A-pillar painted with the new paint.

Looks correct to me, but color monitors are not a good way to tell if the color is correct

bobfist

its a little little more yellow and brighter  in it, almost impossible to see in some angles.
I dont know how much the original paint has changed over the years, but is it ok to use a "non Mopar paint" while restoring ? :)

You can get it at RM or Glasurit.

I use RM paint in my shop, and i have mixed the F3 SURF GREEN MET, that is the Chrysler name.
And remember that you are looking on a single stage metallic paint that is over 40 years old.
RM is waterbased BC/CC.

Hi Bobfist

Sounds like you are in a similar situation to me... I am in australia and am currently trying to find a paint match for my 68 charger (J medium gold metallic) but it is proving very difficult. It seems that the US paint codes are non transferable to anything in australia, i have tried every paint supplier and every paint code that i can find and none of them mean anything to them.

The closest lead i have found is Paintscratch.com, they have been able to mix me a really good match but are unable to send internationally in anything more that a 2oz touch up bottles ( i assume its because of a hazzardous classification in larger volumes?) which is pretty frustrating.

anyway , good luck with it mate, i would be interested to hear what others outside of the states have done it.
