My mom has been rear ended in her car almost 2 weeks ago. We have Farmers insurance on our 3 cars and our house. Guy rear ended her, cops showed up and after ~1hr finally let everyone go. Farmers supposed to handle this case but its been almost 2 weeks and we haven't heard nothing from them. My mom is driving another car at the time while her car is parked wrecked. We have been customers of Farmers for over 12 years and I just can't describe how angry I am with their incompetence and lack of customer support.
Is it our economy that affects big businesses like this so they think they can treat customers like shit or is there some other reason customers are taken for granted?

Your thread title says they are "thiefs". (i.e. "thieves")

Have they actually stolen something from you, or are you just getting lousy customer service? Why not call them to find out what's going on with the status of your claim? Seems the logical thing to do after waiting for two weeks.

Have called them numerous times and representative says "they haven't heard back yet from another insurance company"
And yes I do think they've stolen as they're not providing service for money we pay them every 6 months.
The thing is my mom has "uninsured motorist" on her policy in case other driver does not have insurance and our company is supposed to pick up the bill. If they did find out that he does not have insurance then they should get off their butts and fix mom's car. It does NOT take 2 weeks to make a few phone calls to settle an insurance claim.
I won't refer anyone to them anymore as I thought they were an above the average insurance company.

I am going to be a little mean here because you are acting like you are a 15 y.o girl and think the 16 y.o. guy next door hangs around cause you are nice.  Nope, no, no.  The reason the guy hangs around is cause he is 16 and straight.  The reason Farmers doesn't call is they are an insurance company.  They have one goal in life and that is to hang onto money for as long as they can.  Everything that they do and don't do goes through that filter first.  They want to record a statement from you?  No, they want to find a reason not to pay.  They won't call back?  They believe you are a patsy.  Mention bad faith and/or breach of contract in the next message you leave.  Kim

Well there's not many other decent insurance companies and we've been with this one for over 12 years and never had a problem. I really have to get lawyer involved if we can work this out more civilized.

I disagree with 100% of what you have written. Well, except the 15 y.o. girl part.  :D
I have never had a problem putting through an insurance claim & not having them follow thru or not get paid for a loss. It's been quite the opposite in most cases, I've been surprised at how FAST a claim was settled or I received compensation for my loss.

So, I take it from what little information you have posted, the other driver that rear ended your mom does not have any insurance? Well, that in fact could take a while if there is investigation going on. There might be other parties involved that are dragging their asses, besides just your insurance company.

My advice still stands: CALL your insurance company to find out what the status is. Ask what has been done so far, and what the delay is. Ask what kind of timeframe should you expect settlement. Etc etc. It's a pretty simple process.

Guy supposedly has insurance but as far as are they willing to make a payment-we don't know. Our insurance is supposed to take care of it (or so we thought) Personally I think our insurance (Farmers) should've fixed the car and then went after other guy's insurance. Of course they're assholes and are not going to do that or they would've done it already (almost 2 weeks since the accident)

Been hit several times by other idiots and even in the case where the other driver gave false information to the officer on scene the Ins company paid out to have the car fixed right away and did the money recovery on their own. The key in these situations, at least in my experience, is that their was a police report filed that has you not at fault. Sounds like you have this. Give them a call and keep asking for a manager if the person you talked to can't give you any answers.

Good luck.  :2thumbs:

Try walking into their office and talking to them "face to face", sometimes that works better than being some stranger on the phone.

I agree completely.  Been in the same boat with car and house. State Farm paid right away and went after the other company...

I always tell people the same thing: KEEP RECORDS of everything and everyone you speak with along with dates and times. I have even told people they are being recorded as I have a bad memory. As long as you tell them they are being recorded it is all legal. If someone thinks they are on record WITH THEIR VOICE they normally bust ass to do things right...

KEEP CALLING THEM...
