Did 73 Charger's ever come with an electronic trunk release option?  I have an SE and I'd like to be able to pull a switch on the inside of my car to open my trunk, but I'm not even sure where to begin.  I know I would need a solenoid valve, but would it be a possible (and easy) task to pull off?

I instaled it. On my Mopar parts dealer catalog ( 1974 ) looks was an option BUT apparently only to De luxe sedans including B bodies, but not for 2 doors models ( not sure about that ). I never have known about any 2 doors up to 74 with that option from factory.

Also it appears that option on wiring diagrams for B bodies.

Somebody told on the old board about 60s Mopars ( including 68/69 Chargers ) with remoted trunk release were vacuum operated.

I got the asembly from ebay and actually is the only available as far I know. I think they came from laters 70s Mopars. The one I got was complete from wiring, button, bezel, etc.. up to release lock, Probably from a 78-79 Lebaron or Diplomat

The one ilustrated on Mopar Catalog is with a BIG solenoid, not like this one ( pics )

Anyway, all Mopars locks fits the same since size is the same between bolts etc...

Awesome, I just checked ebay and found what I needed.  Once I get that next paycheck, I know what I'll be doing :D  Thanks for the pics - inside the glove box is a perfect place to put it!
