And this is another reason why I hate the multi make resto supply houses

I see Classic Industries is supplying "correct" spatter paint to cover you trunk "as original" for our Mopars.  It's bad enough they offer it in the Mopar section but to describe it "as original" kind of irks me.  People trust these warehouse style one stop shopping resto suppliers and they shouldn't.  They should support the true Mopar ones.

I might be wrong...but didn't some of the bigger Chryslers of the sixties have splatter paint in the trunk?

As usual, buyer beware. Take nothing for granted and do your research. Measure twice and cut once. Any more adages that apply here?

Yup!, on the research.  The vintage chip sheets show the correct "splatter" for the year and model, even though splatter is incorrect.

I shall forever carry the shame of splattered trunk :brickwall:

Thats pretty funny stuff!   I got their catalog the other day & was admiring how nice it looked till I turned to page 153 & thought EXACTLY the same as you!

I agree, some mopars did in fact have the spatter painted trunk till about 65 or 66.

Ghoste

They don't say that.  The particular car I was researching was a 69 Charger and the trunk paint came up there as correct for the model and year.  I stand by my statement.

Unfortunately I got the splatter treatment myself. The jackass was done before I even had a clue he was planning on doing it. :icon_smile_dissapprove:
