Alternator Trouble ??

Installed a Tuff Stuff 100 Amp alternator with a built in regulator. The install was simple there were NO modifications needed.
I did run a direct wire to the battery to handle some of the current.

What year is your car? If you havea pre 69 and putting on a duel fiels alt you will have to ground one of the fiels to the alt case. If not it will never charge.

Does it never charge or does it drastically overcharge?

The problem was that the stock 60 amp aleternator did not have enough output due to the Dual electric fans and the vacuum pump I added .

Kinda sounds like Mopar01 aka dixie lee.

I don't lknow for sure but I'd be willing to bet that all the aftermarket stuff out there is based on GM TECHNOLOGY.  It's just the packaging.  You can buy HEI distributors for our cars, that's Generic Motors invention isn't it?
