 :shruggy:

I am getting older and my reflexes are slower.  Also  one of my cars has a manual shift auto with the reverse shift pattern.   I know at any time a U joint could let go or anything, but I am more worried about starting in Low , in the reverse pattern  one and banging into neutral rather than 2nd, or going from 2nd and with some excitement going on,  forget that for the last 40 years I shifted forward and do that into 1st. instead of 3rd.
To make a long story short both cars are changed to MP electronic ignitions, What do I need, or what are my options to protect me and the engine. Cost is a factor as well.
Thanks

MSD-6AL.

Besides the option of a kill switch & instant starts, the rev limiter's nice.  An MSD coil is needed as well.  I have mine hidden under the battery tray.

Then where do you put your vacuum canister? :nana:

there are limiter switches, very affordable, but would need to think how to make it work on an ignition system not prepared for that, since is a switch and not a limiter

I got this, to disconect the AC clutch at certain RPMs

I'm not using my a/c, besides my heater core is still plugged so I'm not using the controls & have no need for the canister.

The vacuum pump is beside the MSD though.

Jeez, it's getting hard to make a joke around here.

Did your '70 have a/c?

Sort of. It had the add-on AirTemp setup under the dash (which I promptly removed and then lost :brickwall:). BTW, did you see that seller's feedback rating? 80% :scared:

That is an excellent unit and comes highly recommended. I've used MSD 6 boxes for years and the 6AL with soft touch rev control works flawlessly  :2thumbs:

Another option if planning to keep the factory electronic ignition system would be an MSD stand alone rev limiter. This unit uses pills like the 6AL and has soft touch rpm control   :yesnod:
