Hi I have a 69 charger with a 383 727 trans and a 3.55 rear end. Im just lookin for a couple of opinions. I drove my car to milan dragway last year and at 70 mph i was cranking out about 3300 rpms for about 2 1/2 hours. Now im thinking about taking it to florida from michigan. I have 235 60 15 tires on it. It ran a 14.30 1/4 mile  no burnout and spinning through 1st gear..  My question is how big of a dog would this thing be if i put a 2.94 ring/pinion. If i did the math right it would run at 2750 at 70 mph??   ps engine has a eddy perfomer cam/intake/carb/ 9.5 comp :shruggy:

correct...3300 x 2.94/3.55 = 2733

Are you moving there?  ie. one way trip?  I would probably just drive it.  Give yourself some additional time, and slow down a bit.  Or rent a car, or a car trailer.

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes
4150 lbs with driver, 3.23 gear, stock converter
11.68 @ 120.2 mph

I'd go with a 3.23 rear end.
Gives enough poke without revving too high at highway speed.
My setup of 3.23/727/383 sits at 2400 at 62mph (100kph)
Gotta love a '69

Doctor 4766, Do you have a 28 in tire with your 3.23?

I have 295/60/15's on the rear.

Are you sure they are not 50's? if they are 60's then they are probably 1. not BFG's or 2. 275/60/15.
Veronika, if they are 295's 15x10's are the usual size (they would bulge out the sides a bit much on a 15x8)

The rear rims are 8.5" and they're definately 295/60/15s
Fronts are only 7" wide and I have 245/60/15s on those.
They're Hercules tyres, US made and priced very well.

Cool and thanks! I think BFG made a 285? 60/15 or a 295/60/15 but was discontinued I have not heard of Hercules before
I'll be checking them out on Google
