If someone can give me a hand with these that would be great.

Thanks,

Hi mate.
Just replaced the radio in my charger yesterday.
Black and green go the speaker, red and orange from the radio connect to the plug in the bottom pic that shows the red and orange wires cut!
Hope this helps!!

1st! whatever thing LOL, not original

2nd! :iagree:

3rd, there is wrong stuff there... yellow wires plugged on an orange wire provision

orange wire provision is CLUSTER LIGHTING AND RELATED DIMMER STUFF ( shifter, and whatever must work with dimmer wheel ), feeds positive

now YELLOW WIRES there are requesting DOOR JAM SWITCH GROUND!, stuff requesting being feed or trigged by door ground, like like map light, courtesy light etc...

UNLESS, the flash makes the discoloration from orange to yellow deal!

Nacho...I agree not original spade clips some hack job put those in coming out of the radio!

There are no yellow wires, the flash makes them look that way.

The cut wires go to the radio...I agree. The three pole connector...the two wires to the right go to the lights for the A/C heat switches...the center orange wire...don't know where that goes. The empty slot I believe is for the power to feed the ash tray light.

I need to look for the speaker wires!

Any help with the lone orange renegade wire will be helpful!!

what on the car is feed by dimmer wheel ?

-console shifter
-on 3rd gens... ash tray light
-column shifter if column
-On 3rd gens, accesorie switches below the dash
-AC-Heater control buttons lights
-Radio Dial ( but its on Radio Plug )

That's all comes to mind

The center orange wire in the plug goes to a tach light which did not come with the car originally. I now have a tach and will try to source a socket for the tach light socket (someone cut it off or it was not there?). However, the tach is not too dim to read at night apparently the other instrument panel lights light it up enough.

I have cleaned and polished the lenses, cleaned the gauge faces, bought a new ignition light delay relay, hooked up all the cut radio wires (even though I have a new XM AM/FM radio in the trunk) want to see if the radio will play and lights will light up. I will put everything back together today and see what happens. I hope after all this work the instrument panel lights come back on. That was the whole reason for this big exercise. All I did was clean up the dimmer switch.
