Top 'o the day gang! I bought a pair of new 69 tail light bezels (damn are they expensive!) and would like the forum's input on attaching them to the lens. The majority of the plastic tabs are intact on the lens but how would you "mushroom" the boss heads on the new bezels? I don't see that happening so some type of adhesive seems to be the next option. Recommendations? Thanks.

Found these 2 entries in the same post.  Also, I just removed mine(on a 70 though, I know, I know) for cleaning.  None of the posts were long enough for a push nut retainer, probably clipped prior, if that's how they were fastened originally.  They looked like a couple were glued at one time.  I am sure you could get a similar part at a hardware or auto parts store.  R/T Specialties has these(link below), but they are not listed for this purpose, just as 3/8. The pin is not 3/8, so if that is inside diameter, they are not the right size.  I def. would not want new ones or my originals to fall off.

Need a dremel tool to grind off the bent over portion of the tab. Even after grinding all of those off there is still a chance of snapping a tab or two when trying to remove the pins. Most every body uses a glue or seam sealer to reattach the ring to the lens.
Best of luck. It is slow and painfull but boy do they look sharp when your all done..

......I just cut the snap-on one-way washers off the old bezels and only broke one tab removing them. I used epoxy to glue on the new ones, They are never coming off.

I just used a dab of clear silicone to hold the bezels to the lenses.

I use polyseamseal brand (@home depot) as its a flexible adhesive. If you use a bead along the joint instead of down in the channel you will have an easier time at removal.
