Cal Worthington Has Passed Away

Cal passed at 92. What a character. Probably sold more cars and for a longer time period than anyone.

Just a little trivia - he kept his dealerships open 24 hours a day, and the service departments too, 24 hours a day.

I miss his commercials.  Are his dealerships still operational?  I never heard much about his locations over the last decade or so...

The article said he had 23 dealerships in 5 states at his peak. Each one was a huge and often record setting volume dealer. He sold the last one in Sacramento in 2006 to retire after 60 years.

My oldest brother went on a date with his daughter, many, many, moons ago. Apparently she was a bit of a diva.
I do miss the old commercials of him. And the, "Go see Cal, go see Cal, go see Cal, song!" RIP Cal!

 what memories. i remember those commercials when i lived out there in the high desert in victorville and apple valley. what great comercials. the jingle was catchy. memories of the 70's. sorry to hear the news. :angel:

Loved those commercials. I remember my dad took to his lot once to see Spot. He had some promo with one of his animals.
