Hi there!

I bought new reproduction heater hoses and thought it would be a plug and play install. But it wasn't.

There seems to be a wrong (too big) fitting in my water pump. And from the pictures I have of other 440s it seems to be where normally there is a dummy plug.

This is how it looks:

and this is what I think it should look, I think:

So I guess I should install a new (long) fitting where my short fitting is and the short fitting would go where my dummy plug is, right?

I'll just need a different dummy plug then as it seems to be too small. What npt sizes are those?

Can you guys confirm that?

Where would you buy the fittings and maybe even the missing plug with OE looks? I'm overseas, so the place needs to ship.

Thank you guys!

Chris

If the hose kit you got has two different diameter hoses it's for a '70 and later. '69 and earlier use the same size (5/8") for both hoses.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

The hose kit I have is for 69 and earlier, both 5/8 - but that's the size of the fittings on the heaterbox anyway.

So I'll just get me a new set of small fittings for the waterpump.
