is there any 4speed with a/c?

is it just me that didnt see any/or just missed/or they didnt make them at all?if not why not?

As a rule, no, they didn't make any.  If you wanted AC you got the automatic.  Now, some did get through the line as special orders as I guess a few have surfaced. I know of a 70 Super Bee, 383 4spd, factory AC car right around the corner from my house so I have seen that combo first hand from Dodge for 1970!   But as a rule, you didn't get AC when you wanted a 4spd.  I'd think the reason would be the gearing in the transmission and shifting.  4spd cars tend to make more RPMs between shifts and the tendency to get higher RPMs in a 4spd car is more probable than in an auto.  That puts a lot of stress on the AC compressor and particularly, the belts.  I'd say the belts wouldn't hold up and keep snapping.  Also, letting the clutch out during 1st gear engagement and the added load on the engine with the AC on, more than likely made for a lot of stalling cars on the road with that combination.  Just a few theorys of my own.  Anyone else?

yes, you could get an AC with a 4-speed. Regulary. But only up to the 383 HP engine. So a 383 HP is the biggest engine availabe with 4-speed an AC.
On automatic cars AC was available up to the 440 engine (no six packs) which means it could be had as an RT.

Oh yeah, and the Germans call it Gluvine.  It warms you up for sure!  

Not sure if others offered it or not, but seems you could order anything you want back in the day (unlike today where unless it's in a package or something, you can't get one off options).  I'm sure it was available, but who knows?  I guess what it comes down to is it wasn't a very popular option hence the rarity seeing them.

I have a 69 Super Bee 383 4spd factory A/C.  They are out there.

General rule of thumb:

440 4bbl (any year), 440 6bbl and 426's,, no a/c with 4-speed (D21) - This is probably one of the reason 727-equiipped R/T's, Superbees, GTX's, etc are more numerous than manual tranny cars.

The other option that pretty much caused the a/c check mark to go by the wayside was (N96), fresh-air package in any engine/tranny combination ('69-'72)

My 68 is a factory 383, four speed, with air.  Based on the VIN, they made 259 of these.   Glad I found it!

I read somewhere you couldn't get a 440 4-speed with a/c because of concerns about overspeeding the a/c compressor. Does this sound right?

Yes it is a beauty and could be the same car. I saw it at a Nebraska City meet. I thought it was a very interesting combination, as by that time, most of the performance had gone out of the Charger and it was designed for more the personal luxury crowd. This car is a wonderful mix of both. It's a very cool car.
