Question On General Lee Value

Would you say a 1968-1970 General Lee fetches more money than a non General Lee Charger of the same spec and condition?

Brock Lee

I think it depends. Most General Lee replicas I see are on cars that really need a full restoration. In those cases, I would say yes, they are worth more. But once you get into fully restored territory, I am not so sure. You kind of narrow the interest as you are priced out of most General Lee fans reach, so you are marketing to only fans that have money and want a nice done one now. I think there are more people wanting stock Chargers shopping in that price range.

Brock summed it up pretty well. Will really depend entirely on what the buyer is looking for in a car.

I think a stock '68 or '70 would be worth more as they wouldn't really be accurate General Lee clones.  :Twocents:

probably the stock 68/70 are worth more if original, but........
"wouldn't be Accurate clones" don't think so, they used as many (or more) 68 on the show, that way they removed parklights, sidemarkers.
Take a close look at the upper dashpad on some of the cars they where for sure 68 pads and not the 69.
But hey  :shruggy: main question is what's it worth to you? And not what's it worth to somebody else

I think a stock 69 Charger in comparable shape to my General would rate higher on the value scale, mine being a 4 year old total restoration.

Original Chargers are only wanted by a certain clientel, while EVERYBODY wants a General Lee...

They used more 1968 Chargers then 1969's on the show. No NO 1970 ever used though.

The guys wanting original Chargers tend to have more money to spend than the guys that want General Lees.
