What are these for ?

In the final steps of disassembly of my baby before she goes out to get some bodywork done.

While removing the quarter glass and regulators I came across these two puppies just laying there.(last pic) Anyone know what they are?

if i remember correctly - they are shields that go in the sail panel area...   someone else will tell u exactly where they go im sure.

don't think they were fitted to all ! bit of a hit & miss !!  seem to remember being a sort of poll on here !!  to who found them on their 68 /69  , my 69 never had them ! & previously never been apart !! seem to remember they were more likely to be found on a 68 ! but some 69s on here had them

So their function is to protect the glass? guide the quarter glass when you wind the window up/down?

My guess is to deflect junk /debri that enters through that weird hole that at the lower back end tip of the quarter glass exterior trim.

Mine did, but when I put the interior back together I missed them. Came across them awile ago and wondered what they were. Guess I'll put them in when I get new side glass someday.

The '69 in my Avatar didn't have 'em, but a '69 I parted a few years back (built Aug. 68) did.
