Another Vacuum Headlight Switch Solution

I got tired of trying to constantly fix my vacuum headlight door switch.  Either the little arm coming off the electrical headlight switch would break or the vacuum switch itself would develop a leak.

I found vacuum solenoids known as Vacuum Change Over valves.

In order to work, I had to purchase 2 of them; One for channeling the vacuum from the engine and the other for allowing air back into the vacuum actuator.  The images show the rest of the story.  :2thumbs:

Just thought I would pass this info along.

uh...you got the relay tapped into the low beam headlight wire...what will happen if you turn on the high beam?

Me thinks it would be better to tap into the center wire on the dimmer switch...that way it will be activated when lights are on whether it's high beam or low beam

I came up with an electro-vacuum switch back in the 90's when I built the Daytona...has been working great for years now...a few members bought one as well...kinda spendy at $150 each...yers are a better price if they work as well

just sayin'

I did the same thing - (or at least am in the middle of it) including headlight relays      :2thumbs:

I made this one up on my own..gotta buy the parts separately...I can still get them...but as stated, kinda pricey and about a 2 week wait

let me see if I can find the picture of it and post it here

ok..here is pic...this basically takes the place of the vacuum portion of the 68-69 OE headlight switch...you must still use the electrical portion.

Two wire connection, ground and power taken off the dimmer switch...then 3 vacuum hose connections to be made, one from vacuum tank, and the other two to the open & close ports on vacuum cans on headlight doors..

I have not had a call for these for some time now....last price was $150 each...plus mailing

I have had one of these on our Daytona since 1999 when we finished car...no issues ever with mine...I have sold a couple...no complaints
