My 2004 Ram 4x4 (3.92) uses synthetic 75w/140 axle lube. My 8 3/4 (3.55 SG) in the Charger uses 80w/90 synthetic. The Charger:s axle has some whinning at 55mph. Would the heavier lube help with the noise? Any draw backs?

I run 85/140 (non synthetic) severe duty axle lube in the Dana....no problems to date.  ;)

Quiet as a mouse...the rear end that is, not the car !
