I have obtained a pair of backing plates for my '69 axle.    The ones I have came off of a '73.   Are there any differences between the '69 and '73?   And if so...what are they?   And.....will these work out?   Thanks....Ace

The wheel cylinders will be different. I don't know about the emergency brake cables.

But the overall shapes and whatnot wont make any difference?

BUMP    Does any one have pics so i can compare the two???

I'm thinking that any backing plate off any B or C body will fit on the 69.  Of course, Mopar brakes came in 9 inch, 10 inch, and 11 inch.  And the shoes vary in width from 1-3/4 inch on up to at least 2-3/4 inch.  I don't think A body stuff will work.  I think the distance from the surface of the housing flange to the outer surface of the axle is different on them.  And the parking brake cables are all different.  Also wheel cylinders go from 13/16 up to an inch I think.  Doesn't matter if it's a 8-1/4 or 8-3/4 axle.  Maybe even 7-1/4.  I think the 69 Charger got either 10 inch or 11 inch brakes depending on what engine was specified and if the car had power booster or not.  If adding discs on the front, front to rear bias can be messed up causing the rears to lock up sometimes.  I read that this can be fixed by using a smaller bore rear wheel cylinder.  Std being 15/16 (Napa 37053) and one size smaller being 7/8 (Napa 37236).  I don't have any pics but someone just posted  nice pictures of the standard rear brakes on a 69 charger---both sides.  And I don't see why the stuff you found won't work.

Exactly....i just didnt know if there was a difference in offset or not....they bolt on perfectly though.

It's my understanding that the offset from the outer surface of the rear housing flange to the outer surface of the axle flange is the same on B & C bodies but different on A bodies.
